Yesterday Hannah experienced her first Royal Agricultural Winter Fair at Exhibition Place in downtown Toronto. As a child, I loved attending the fair - it really does bring the farm to city kids and teaches them why farms are important. Seeing the animals and winning crops, hearing and SMELLING the animals, you really do feel like you are visiting a farm for the day.
Our first stop was the
Grain Farmers of Ontario's main booth. Hannah enjoyed playing in the faux corn fields, using the touch screen (which taught about different parts of Ontario), playing online games and seeing all the products made by wheat, corn and soy bean! (Did you know we have grain to thank for Crayola Crayons, Coca-Cola and Crest?)
