This season guest may drop by last minute. I try to keep the condo as clean as possible, but having a three-year old means sometimes it's not as tidy as I would like. So when we get short notice that someone is stopping by, I immediately rely to Swiffer and Febreze.
We don't own a dog, so crumbs can be a daily issue...especially because sometimes my daughter plays while she snacks. Thankfully we have the Swiffer Sweep and Trap - I LOVE the fact I can collect particles AND clean at the same time!

Emergency Preparedness with Duracell and the Toronto Fire Service #PGmom
It was the evening of Dec. 21, 2013, when our superintendent loudly knocked on the door around 10 pm. She apologized for disturbing us but wanted us to move our car as she was afraid the storm might take a tree down and land on it. And boy, did that storm ever wreak havoc - and the tree did come down. Our car was safe - but the tree came down on a power line leaving our apartment building without electricity for a whole week.
You would think after living through that ordeal I would have an emergency kit to sustain my family and home for the recommended 72 hours. Alas, I am one of the 53 per cent of Canadians who don't have one - and my reasoning is the same as those who were surveyed by Duracell and the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs. When my power eventually came back, it was not top of mind (like 57 per cent of other Canadians)...and I became lazy about it (like 23 per cent of our nation).
So when I was contacted through the #PGmom program with the opportunity to learn how to create my own emergency preparedness kit I jumped at the chance. Earlier this week Hannah and I found ourselves at Fire Station 121 in Toronto and we both learned new safety rules and how to be prepared.

Help Duracell Canada Power the Holidays with Children's Miracle Network
It's baby's first Christmas, and I am slowly starting to buy presents to put under the tree addressed to her.
Surfing the web finding the most awesome toys is making me really excited for this holiday season. I just hope she likes playing with the toys we pick as much as Chris and I will!
It's no surprise that most of these toys require batteries to work. I'm working on a post about gifts we think are awesome, but in the meantime I wanted to let you know about a program Duracell Canada is running which may be even more awesome.
This holiday season, Hasbro is donating Duracell-powered toys to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across Canada. Every time you like or share a new post from Duracell Canada's Facebook page, between Nov. 5 – Dec. 31, 2012, they will donate $1 CAD to the Children’s Miracle Network up to a maximum $25,000.
So make sure you like and share posts from Duracell Canada so the $25,000 mark is reached!
