Octaspring Evolution Plus pillow provides a better night's sleep (Review & Giveaway)

In the last weeks of my pregnancy, when I was itching to meet my daughter, people told me to enjoy the sleep while it lasted. Ha, I thought. I have a watermelon in my belly, I get up every three hours to pee and I am so hot I practically sleep naked - in January.

And then Hannah was born. And I did miss sleep (A LOT), and some mornings, 16 months later, I still do.

Hannah isn’t much of a napper (she’s never napped more than once a day –ever) but, as long as she’s feeling well and not teething, we are lucky in that she usually sleeps 10 -12 hours straight a night. There’s still no sleeping in (if only we could teach our cat Booyah he’s not a rooster) – but there is consecutive hours of sleep, and that counts.

Dormeo Octaspring (from the UK) recently launched their revolutionary new line of bedding in Canada, and I was approached to review one of their pillows. Consecutive sleep could equal sound sleep? Needless to say, I jumped at the chance.

Octaspring technology innovatively combines all the benefits of the two traditional types of mattresses, but eliminates the drawbacks of both through its unique eight-sided springs made out of memory foam. The springs cradle and conform to the sleeper’s body (memory foam) while providing incredible ventilation and breathability (springs). Octaspring also extends the principle behind their mattresses’ technology into their pillows, realizing that the head and neck need as much comfort as the rest of the body.

I was sent an Octaspring Evolution Plus pillow. It consists of 18-memory foam Octapillow springs to cradle the head and on the border edges are another 12 firmer Octapillow springs, to tuck under the neck. This is important as I sleep on my back but I also sleep on my stomach. And if Booyah is sleeping with us, sometimes I find myself on my side. My new pillow is a lot firmer than the pillow I was using before, and my head and neck are definitely supported regardless of my sleeping position.

Due to the unique Octaspring ventilation system (the mattresses and pillows are 9x and 7x more breathable in relation to competing memory foam products), the pillow is always cool, which makes for a better sleep (and for me, less breakouts on my face). I’ve also noticed I don’t blow my nose as much in the morning - thanks to the ventilation of the pillow my allergies aren’t acting up. Chris has even mentioned to me that I am a sounder sleeper since I began using my Evolution Plus pillow.
