My only problem with making breakfast for dinner at home was a lack of home fries/hash browns/any type of potato side dish. So every time I made breakfast for dinner a small (ok, BIG) part of my stomach always questioned what was missing.
Therefore I was especially excited to find out about Cavendish From the Farm Rustic Reds (you know Cavendish from the commercial on TV - they are the singing farmers from Prince Edward Island, Go Canada!).
In 20 minutes, (12 minutes in the oven on one side, then flip for another 8 minutes) I have tasty rustic red skinned diced potatoes - a perfect side for scrambled eggs and bacon. They are seasoned with sea salt, are low in fat and are simply delish.
As I mentioned before, my daughter is starting to become more independent. This is the perfect potato toddler finger food. The potatoes are small enough I didn't have to cut them, and once they cooled a little, Hannah could pick them up and eat them all by herself. She completely cleaned her plate, as did Chris and I.
Because we can simply open the bag, put the potatoes on a cookie tray, and place them in the oven, Cavendish potatoes are such an easy compliment to any meal. I can't wait to try other dishes with them.
There are loads of recipes on the Cavendish website. The next time we cook with Cavendish From the Farm Rustic Reds, I'd like to try the Country Chicken Pot Pie. Not every dinner can be breakfast, but with these potatoes as part of any meal my stomach will never question a missing side dish again.
Disclosure: I am participating in the From the Farm blog tour by Mom Central Canada on behalf of Cavendish. I received compensation for taking part in the blog tour and sharing my honest opinion. The opinions on this blog are my own.

Good to know...I'm not one for frozen potatoes, however I do cook with frozen peas, carrots, broccoli etc..so why not with potatoes? They are definitely the perfect size for toddlers! By the way, dinner looks yummy ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love this commercial and have been meaning to try these out!
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious! Love potatoes - these look so easy and kid-friendly.
ReplyDeleteI love frozen potatoes - especially because its too much work to prep and cook from scratch. It definitely cuts down on breakfast prep time on weekends :)
ReplyDeleteWe love breakfast for dinner in our house too! Looking forward to trying these. I'm sure they will be a hit!
