When I was little, the only time I recall Barbie being on TV was during commercials. I would jump up and down and remind my Mom that Christmas or my Birthday was quickly approaching. (I kid you not, one year I actually "measured" Barbie's RV Camper from my television screen to a big box under the tree - let's just say I was NOT disappointed Christmas morning).
Ladies and gentlemen, Barbie is now on TV. The first-ever 22-minute episode of Barbie™ Life in the Dreamhouse is coming to Teletoon on November 23rd at 5PM and YTV on November 30th at 8:30 AM. In the episode, Barbie, her friends and family are getting ready to compete in the reality competition, The Amaze Chase! Five teams will be racing around to famous Barbie locations for the top prize.
Your child and their BFFs could watch them take on adventure from their very own Barbie® Amaze Chase party!

Express your Style with Barbie! #Contest
When I was growing up, my favourite thing to play with my best friend was Barbie. M had the ultimate dream house. We loved dressing up our Barbies for different occasions - the beach, work (my Barbie often worked at McDonald's since I had that playset) and going out on a special dates with Ken. We could only consult each other about the variety of looks - all based on our combined (albeit very large) Barbie closets. If only Barbie - My Dreams was available to us back then, to let us know all the latest fashions in the world of Barbie and more. Thankfully it's now available to my daughter...and therefore me too!Barbie - My Dreams is an online interactive hub for contests, games and of course dreams! Canadian Barbie fans will love collecting their favourite things, catching up with Barbie and friends and entering the latest contests. Barbie - My Dreams is a safe environment that functions similar to the Pinterest, but for the biggest Canadian Barbie fans. Content is uploaded regularly and when you sign up for a Barbie my Dreams account you will be the first to know about new promotions - and of course, new Barbie fashion!

Fisher-Price #MillionMoments of Joy
Becoming a parent embodies a multitude of emotions. It's really one of those situations where you can never truly understand until you are in the midst of parenting a child yourself. Oh, and your child parenting you.
The first 14 months of my daughter's life have passed in a blur, and now that she's in daycare our moments together are more precious than ever before (regardless if said moments are good...or bad!).
Fisher-Price has launched a new contest that celebrates the Million Moments of Joy that come along with parenting. You can upload a photo, video or story for a chance to win some pretty amazing prizes. (I don't know how we would have survived the first few months of Hannah's life without the Ocean Wonders™ Aquarium (part of the prize pack), Chris still uses it to distract her when he's cutting her nails!)

Win Pampers for a Year!
One of my favourite parts of the recent P&G Mom event I attended was learning more about their Pampers diapers.
Before hearing a presentation from Dianna Kenneally of Pampers Scientific Communications, I only thought about diapers in this way: Do I have enough? Are they on sale? What's the cent cost per diaper? Will they protect Hannah's clothes?
I feel like a horrible mom admitting this, but I never even thought about Hannah. Will she be dry and therefore happy? That's the question I should have focused on.
Thankfully Pampers does their research - however difficult that may be. As Ms. Kenneally pointed out, imagine having a consumer who is only loyal to your product for a few years. And during those few years their needs change constantly and dramatically, sometimes overnight. Oh, and they can't tell you areas that your product needs to improve.
Welcome to the world of baby products.
So Pampers talks to moms AND watches how babies use their product in a special lab. Last year in North America they conducted 25 studies - talking to 9,000 moms acquiring 250 hours of interviews.
Pampers technology includes the use of AGM (absorbent gelling material), which can hold 30 times its weight in urine. It locks away liquid from the top sheet which keeps baby dry. And it holds the liquid under pressure, so that when the baby moves the liquid does not.
I can't help but share some neat diaper facts (although some people may find this a gross topic, I find it quite fascinating). On average, caregivers change a diaper every four hours. During the day, these diapers consist of 100 mL of urine. The overnight diaper? 180 mL of urine. Also, babies pee in gushes, not all at once.
So, now that I may have grossed you out, I will tell you about an amazing contest Pampers is running. Remember earlier how I mentioned that cost is a major factor in determining how I buy diapers? I'm sure it is for you too. How would you like to win free Pampers for a year?
This contest is open to Canadians starting TODAY, Monday, November 19th at Pampers.ca and at the Pampers Canada Facebook page. The first draw is December 6th and there will be a draw for a year’s worth of diapers each month until the end of June 2013.
Disclosure: I am a P&Gmom. As part of my affiliation with this group I receive products and special access to P&G events. The opinions on this blog are my own.
